Base64 Encoder & Decoder

Converts text or files to Base64 and back, with correct UTF-8 handling (accented letters, emoji, multibyte characters), standard and URL-safe variants, invalid-Base64 detection, and download of the decoded file with a controlled MIME type. Base64 is an encoding, not an encryption method, and the tool states this explicitly.

Frequently asked questions

Does Base64 encrypt or protect my information?
No. Base64 is a reversible encoding with no key at all; anyone can decode it. It shouldn't be used to protect sensitive data.
Does it work with emoji and accented letters?
Yes. The text is first encoded to UTF-8 bytes before converting it to Base64, so accented letters, ñ, and emoji encode and decode correctly.
